Berts Diner in Elk Grove

Excellent service. Nice casual dining, food is good and portions very generous. So far I have not had one meal I did not like there. The Chilaquiles and Huevos Rancheros are delicious and very filling.

The food is fantastic and large portions. Phyllis was a great server.

Excellent is what i say,Highly recommend. The young lady who served us was polite and helpful. Our food was quick and still piping hot. The atmosphere was nostalgic of a classic 50s cafe. We are already planning a breakfast ride with friends to enjoy their patio and good food.

Bert's Diner Offers a wide variety of selections on their menu, and has daily specials. We were pleasantly surprised to find they even had a Mexican food section on their menu, and have enjoyed their chimichangas several times, and they serve it with a side salad. They are open from 7 a.m to 8:30 p.m., so you are able to go there for later night dining.

I've gone to Bert's Diner two or three times now, again just yesterday. The waitresses were polite and courteous, and kept checking on us, asking if we needed anything or wanted anything else. The restaurant itself, is very clean and takes you right back to the 1950's, in an authentic way. Overall, I have no complaints about Bert's or it's staff and plan on going back each and every time I'm in the area.

My boyfriend and I had be driving most of the day and saw the open for patio seating sign so we stopped. We were the only customers when we got there and were the only ones the whole time. There were flies flying around the whole time. I ordered an Arnold Palmer and the tea tasted rancid. We ordered an overpriced order of mozzarella sticks. They tasted exactly like the ones I buy at Wal-Mart. Then our entrees came out and the flies flying around us doubled. My boyfriend's food was decent but my combination plate was lack luster. It was so bad we each had to use one hand to shop the flies away as we used the other hand to eat. I understand that COVID is changing how we do things but there was absolutely no evidence that they were trying to keep flies away from the customers. We had to ask for boxes and finish eating in the car.

This place is just such a staple! Everything on the menu is good plus they have the best breakfast potatoes in all of elk grove! The mimosas are only $2 on weekends and they use cooks were most places use nasty J roget because its cheaper. Cooks is better and for that price tag of $2 can't even compare their mimosas to other places! They have a great staff too! I go in at least 1x a week if not more honestly. Just really good food. Not the cleanest place but service and food is great!

This is my second time going there. The food is good for the price. I would definitely come again.

Best pancakes around, I was taking a picture of my pancake because it looked so good and another gentleman asked to take a picture for himself!

Great place. Good service, tasty food, good value. I had an omlette and asked for some special requests. No problem, no extra charge.The only complaint (and it's a really small one) is that when I got a shake to go (very tasty!) it was too thick for the wimpy straw (the chips in mint chip may have been an issue, too) I will go back for sure.

Delicious huge servings that should be shared if possible. Ordered fried steak and i was full the entire day.

If you’re looking for well priced diner food that also tastes delicious and in a diner with a great 50s theme, this is the place. They also accommodated my vegetarian order with a black bean burger substitute! It was delicious.

Not many places like this that aren't chains anymore. Most days they have great dinner specials. Especially Friday night 1 pound steak for $10.99!

Great little diner! We went on a Sunday, but were promptly seated. Our waitress was a tad in attentive, but our food arrived quickly. Everything was cooked well and delicious. We will definitely return!!

We were in Wilton for a lacrosse tournament and went to Bert's for lunch between games. We had great food and service. We will definitely return!

Nice place for breakfast if you looking to eat close to the country. Customer service was good, but the coffee cups came with lipstick, not clean. The breakfast burrito was good, and lots country fried potatoes. Their CHILAQUILES is nothing like the chilaquiles we know, it’s more like nachos. Stick with breakfast it was good.

I love Bert's. Amazing employees, amazing food! I have never had a bad plate of food from there. It's a great place to eat.

I’ve been going here since I was a kid and they have good food and I love the milkshakes. However, after my brother worked here a couple years ago we stopped going due to the fact he discovered that the cooks have dropped food on the ground on more than one occasion and simply put the same food back on the plate and served it. Makes me wonder about all the food I have eaten here and now I just can’t stomach the idea

I ordered the pork chop breakfast with hash browns and two eggs and toast, it was a lot and couldn't finish. The place is comfortable and the music is from the old days which was also comfortingly to just have coffee. Just off grant line in a nice area.

Bert's Diner is just the type of place where, when you walk in you feel like you've been going your whole life. We've been maybe a hail of times, and are NEVER disappointed! The Chilaquiles is amazing!! There's something for everyone on the menu. You really CAN NOT go wrong! Wish I had a photo to share, but I started eating too quickly. 🤦

Very good. Had the Avocado Omelet, toast and fruit. Lots of bacon bits and filling. Ask for the salsa on the side as it is fantastic with a hint of garlic.Really enjoyed the 50s vibe also.Servers were very nice and attentive.

Berts diner is just what you would expect from a"diner". Authentic 1950's architecture complete with a jute box, lots of chrome and glass bricks for walls at the entrance. Prices are reasonable, service is good, menu has plenty of variety including burgers, sandwiches, fish and chips, and Mexican dishes. Good milkshakes. Remember this is a diner, not Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.

I love this little gem. They have the best mimosas in the mornings. The food tastes amazing as the service is great. I'm glad it's so close to us too, beats driving into the middle of Elk Grove for breakfast.

What a pleasant surprise. We got the $3.99 breakfast special that included one egg, one bacon, one (big) pancake and crispy hash browns. Amazing! Got breakfast for 2, including coffee, for well under $20, including a 20% tip. Highly recommend!

I have driven past this restaurant for as long as I can remember, 30 plus years. My wife and I stopped in for breakfast on Saturday 1/18/2020. we ha the pleasure of having Phyllis for our server. She has been there for 27 years! What a great find. I had the Chile cheese omelet. THEY NAILED IT!!!My advise is to stop driving by, stop in introduce your self and ENJOY!!!!

OMG! The only place I really, really got what I ordered!!!!!Extra, extra well done have scared away many a chef. Guess they didn't have the beef to handle that. This chef did. Not only once but three times so far.I JUST LOVE THE PLACE.

Bert's is a wonderful diner. I had a delicious bacon and avocado omelette there after struggling to make up my mind for a while because everything was so good. That was about 11 months ago now but I still remember it vividly. That was the best omelette I've ever had.

I always love coming here. We meet friends here and have a great time. Wonderful food and great service!

Fun old style dinner with good food. I have been here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Always satisfying and the only drawback is sometimes there is a wait. That's because it's a small diner with indoor and outdoor seating but during the high volume times it gets busy. Most good restaurants do!

This place provides awesome service as well as delicious menu. My favourite restaurant in the area. The meals served quickly and the prices are fair. Will definitely recommend this place.

Sat there tonight for an hour and still were told 4 tickets in front of us. Decided to leave luckily for them I was nice enough to let them know. I won't be back for a while of at all. They need to hire way more staff for the kitchen and waitresses on a Friday night. They were busy, but not an excuse to take this long. You lost put on a regular customer for a long time and maybe for good. We went to Galt to get food since it was on our way out of town anyways. Wasted an hour for no reason. Hope the owner reads these.

Great breakfast here. Side of has browns with an o er easy egg on top. Delightful hash browns. Very finely diced potatoes. Recognizable corned beef. My companions had cinnamon rolls (ginormous). Another had two eggs x 2 pancakes (also ginormous) x 2 sides of bacon (4 slices total). Bacon was cooked to order (extra crispy).Biscuit and gravy was just so_so. Biscuit was fine. Gravy was not generous with the sausage and rather bland.Service was attentive, but not overwhelming. Coffee was decent and refilled often. All in all- a very good American diner dining experience.

Awesome place!!! Took the family here for Mothers day because everywhere else was hours wait. Looked on google had great reviews and the reviews were more than accurate! Better than I hop and black bear! Authentic amazing breakfast! Our new spot!
